MOSCOW, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- Russia's new state arms procurement program for 2018-2028 has been signed by President Vladimir Putin, a senior Russian official said Monday.

"Yes, the document was signed by the president," Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Rogozin told the Kommersant newspaper, adding that the new state arms procurement program focuses on cutting-edge weaponry including "robotics, intelligence systems, combat and reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles, anti-missile aircraft defense, and precision ammunition."

Rogozin also noted that the new state arms program was drafted on the basis of the experience of use of weapons and military equipment in combat conditions in Syria.

The effectiveness of combat use of new complexes and systems have been assessed during deployment in extreme conditions. More than 200 types of weapons and equipment were tested, he said.

At the same time, Russia has noticed the build-up of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)'s military potential, the implementation of the global strike concept by the United States, the intention to deploy weapons in outer space, and the deployment of strategic non-nuclear systems of precision weapons. Russia has correspondingly responded to all of these situations, said Rogozin.

In November 2017, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Tatiana Shevtsova said the new state arms program would spend 19 trillion rubles (325 billion U.S. dollars) on military equipment procurement and one trillion rubles (17 billion dollars) on the synchronization system.
