BISSAU, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Guinea-Bissau's Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy Mario Musante on Friday praised the vitality of cooperation between his country and China, citing as an example the "strategic" partnership that Beijing is developing with Bissau in the fisheries sector.
"The People's Republic of China is one of Guinea-Bissau's largest bilateral development partners and a key contributor to progress for our people," Musante stated during a ceremony marking the 40th anniversary of cooperation between China and Guinea-Bissau in the field of fisheries.
"Guinea-Bissau was the first destination for China's oceanic fishing industry," noted Chinese Ambassador to Guinea-Bissau Yang Renhuo, stressing that the two countries "are good friends."
Yang reaffirmed China's commitment to supporting Guinea-Bissau in developing its blue economy through a "win-win" cooperation model. ■
