TRIPOLI, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Libyan Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha on Thursday called for activating the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between Libya and Turkey, especially those concerning security.

Bashagha made his remarks during a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Libya Ahmed Dogan in the capital Tripoli.

During the meeting, Bashagha said the Libyan Ministry of Interior attaches great importance to the training of all its employees, the ministry said in a statement.

Dogan expressed the hope to "convert all the agreements and memorandums of understanding between the two countries into reality on the ground," it added.

Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Serraj on Tuesday approved new security arrangements in Tripoli, which are focused on forming joint police and army forces to protect security of the city.

"The security arrangements aim to ensure the security of people, as well as private and public properties, and to establish public order based on regular security and police forces working according to professional standards, while taking all necessary security, military and civilian measures," the PM's Information Office said in a statement.
